AIBSS Karnataka Unit along with 60 prominent delegates comprising of Ministers, ex-minsters, MLAs, MLCs, ex-MLAs, ex-MLCs and people from various walks of life of Banjara community felicitated Shri Vajubhai Vala His Excellency Governor of Karnataka, recently at Raj Bhavan.

While addressing the delegates, the Governor highlighted the following issues to be handled on a priority basis.

1. Giving utmost importance in educating Girl child/children.

2. Creating awareness on ill effects of liquor and to curb drinking habits.

3. Well established and educated members of the Banjara community should adopt a family for their upliftment. 

However the AIBSS state unit has already adopted a village called Avoor in Surpur taluk Yadgiri Dist where nearly 40 Banjara families are suffering from bone and growth related problems, physically handicapped, mentally challenged and other problems for which AIBSS is working towards their better health care since 3 years.
In his introductory speech D Rama Naik, state President AIBSS gave the outline about Karnataka Banjara community and common reservation policy in the country recently at Raj Bhavan, Bangalore.
