Different countries celebrate the teacher day in various date as per their importance and achievement in education .It is the special day for the appreciation of teacher who has contributed her or him in particular area or community in general. Teachers’ days are distinct from World Teachers’ Day which is officially celebrated across the world on October 5. The idea of celebrating Teachers’ Day took ground independently in many countries during the 20th century; in most cases, they celebrate a local educator or an important milestone in education (for example, Argentina commemorates Domingo Faustino Sarmiento’s death on September 11 since 1915.In my opinion and actual history if we read out you may find that it was the great lady savitri jyothi rao phule who has inspired to the illiterate people in the region of Maharashtra to awake them from the darkness and enlighten the candle in their house for the education .But,the credit has been taken by Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s because he has played the vital role in the introduction of teacher day for the school .However, in general the teacher day is celebrating on the juncture of his birthday date – September 5 since 1888 but it has implemented on 1962 period to celebrate the Teacher day as an officially. Well, it make me honour and to declare you that he was the second President of India, academic philosopher Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan. It is considered a “celebration” day, where teachers and students report to school as usual but the usual activities and classes are replaced by activities of celebration, thanks and remembrance. At some schools on this day, the responsibility of teaching is taken up by the senior students to show appreciation for their teachers. In Andhra Pradesh state, this day is called as “Guru Pujothsavam” in Telugu.in Tamil Nadu State, this day is called “Aasiriyar dhinam” which literally means Teachers day in Tamil. Another day set aside for commemorating teachers in India and Nepal is Guru Purnima, also called ‘Ashad sukla purnima’. It typically falls in mid-July. This holiday allows students to express their respect to their teacher. Students begin preparing a week in advance, and many classes usually prepare literature and art to welcome Teachers’ Day, while other students prepare foods and flowers for the parties held at their schools. Students usually visit their teachers at their homes to offer flowers and small gifts, or organize trips with their teachers and classmates. Former students also pay respect to their former teachers on this day. On this day there are no classes from the teacher but its give opportunities to the student to play the role of teacher and to be honoured for their support in building the country. I still criticise that why the Jyothi Rao Phule and SAVITRI BAI PHULE have been kept aside when both of them have given contribution for the upliftment of society toward education. Hence thus, I pray to all the citizen of India to give equivalent importance to them also, so that to defeat the natural justice and to balance the jubilant day for which citizen of India give more importance that is called Guru Day or Teacher day.
